Why You Shold By This Game, 16 Feb 2002
By A Customer
Command & Conquer:Red Alert is not suprisingly the sequel to the famous Command & Conquer, except of course it has many more new units, better in dept missions, better graphics, better gameplay and probably the best thing of all, the new senario mode. This allows you to play up to 7 other computer controlled teams on many different maps, and even create your own map with the new map editor. The game mode has two different sides that you can chose to be, the Allies or the Soviets. Each side has 14 missions in which you take control of tanks, soldiers, air craft, ships and the building of your base. The missions require skill, planning and balls to make that final crushing attack on the enemy! Command & Conquer:Red Alert which was a big improvement on its original and has also had a few sequels made of it, none of which are any where near as good. Tiberian Sun, the first sequel, is set in the future, with weird units such as tanks with rail cannons and flying soldiers. It is all too sereal, and although the maps are bigger and with more buildings the game play is very poor. Red Alert is definitly the better of the two. Red Alert 2, the latest sequel, although it is not as futuristic is still no where near as good as Red Alert. What makes red alert the best is that the units are appealling and easily recognisable, where as in the sequels what looks like a soldier is probably a walking robot with a laser cannon and nuke! I've played Red Alert and I couldn't put it down (exit the game), no its not becasue my computer had crashed again! Its because of the missions, units, senarios and everything in the game that keeps you gripped. The sequels however I played for an hour and ended up reaching for the power supply on my computer to turn them off! My conclusion....forget the sequels, forget the other games, don't forget to buy Red Alert.

Forget Red Alert 2, 8 Jul 2001
By A Customer
This is longer than Red Alert 2 by far, has more depth, more balanced sides, and a much lengthier plot with better acting and greater depth, and it's a fraction of the price of Red Alert 2. he graphics may show its age, but the gameplay is as good as any other game you'll find! Turst me. if you don't like it, i'll refund your money myself!

WESWOOD'S classic!!!, 17 April 2007
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Below somebody mentioned EA did a great job, well actually Westwood did the great job with C&C 1 and Red Alert many years ago. EA bought Westwood in a 'hostile takeover', just for the brand name not the talent, kicking out all the great designers and programmers.
Anyway one of the greatest games ever made- i just can't get hold of Counterstrike (an expansion pack) anywhere and need it for mods.
Also tesla Coils are real invented by Nicola Tesla at the turn of the century...but that's a whole other story. Five stars Ten out of ten, buy this game if you've never played it, or if you fancy a trip down memory lane.
